Construction on a new Texas Roadhouse restaurant in North Manheim Township, Pennsylvania, will begin in mid-August, marking the next phase of the Indian Rock Landing commercial development.
According to Mark Hoover, project manager at Miller Bros. Construction, the restaurant chain plans to start construction on August 17, following completion of site preparation activities scheduled for earlier in the month.
The new restaurant will stand at 1468 Route 61, expanding the national steakhouse brand’s presence in Schuylkill County.
Site Preparation Nears Completion
Construction crews continue preparing the site ahead of vertical construction.
Miller Bros. Construction previously targeted August 11 for completion of site preparation work. Current infrastructure improvements include construction of a southbound deceleration lane on Route 61, which will improve vehicle access and traffic flow to the development.
These transportation upgrades support the restaurant project while enhancing safety for customers entering and exiting the site.
Texas Roadhouse Confirms Expansion
Texas Roadhouse first announced plans to enter the North Manheim Township market in April.
In a company statement, the restaurant chain said:
“We are very excited to join the Schuylkill County community, and we look forward to our legendary food and service.”
The company has not released architectural renderings or additional project details.
Restaurant Reflects Standard Brand Design
Although the company has not disclosed design plans for the North Manheim location, Texas Roadhouse restaurants generally follow a consistent prototype.
A typical restaurant includes:
- Between 7,500 and 8,000 square feet of floor space
- Seating for approximately 300 guests
- Custom murals that reflect the local community
- Indoor dining designed around the brand’s western-inspired theme
Each location also features the company’s signature “Willie’s Corner,” a tribute to country music legend Willie Nelson and his long-standing friendship with company founder Kent Taylor.
National Chain Continues US Expansion
Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, Texas Roadhouse operates approximately 700 restaurants across 49 U.S. states and 10 countries.
The company opened its first restaurant in Clarksville, Indiana, in 1993 and has continued expanding through a combination of company-owned and partner-operated locations.
Each restaurant operates under a managing partner model in which local operators hold an ownership interest. Managing partners invest US$25,000, sign a five-year employment agreement and receive 10% of restaurant profits.
Construction Supports Commercial Growth
The North Manheim Township project reflects continued investment in commercial and restaurant construction despite broader economic uncertainty.
Restaurant developments often require coordinated infrastructure improvements, including roadway modifications, utility connections and site grading before building construction begins.
The addition of a dedicated deceleration lane illustrates how transportation upgrades frequently accompany retail and hospitality developments to improve accessibility and accommodate future traffic volumes.
Texas Roadhouse has not announced how many employees the new restaurant will hire. The company states that it offers flexible work schedules, employee discounts and training opportunities across its locations.
Once construction begins in August, the project will add another nationally recognized dining destination to the growing commercial corridor along Route 61.
