Hyundai North America has expanded its compact equipment lineup with the introduction of the 71-gross-hp HT30 compact track loader (CTL). Designed for landscaping, residential contracting, municipal, and residential applications, the medium-frame machine combines lifting capacity, operator-focused features, and multiple factory configurations. The HT30 follows Hyundai’s introduction of the larger 115-gross-hp HT38 compact track loader as the company continues expanding its presence in the compact equipment market.
Hyundai Adds Medium-Frame HT30 to Compact Equipment Lineup
HD Construction Equipment Hyundai North America introduced the HT30 compact track loader as a medium-frame machine designed for contractors seeking versatility across multiple job applications.
The machine delivers 71 gross horsepower (53 kW) and offers three factory configurations:
- Cab with standard-flow hydraulics.
- Cab with high-flow hydraulics.
- Canopy with standard-flow hydraulics.
The HT30 cab model provides a rated operating capacity of 3,028 pounds, while the canopy version offers a rated operating capacity of 2,900 pounds. All configurations achieve a hinge-pin height of 8 feet 1 inch.
The operating weight reaches 11,141 pounds for cab versions and 10,448 pounds for the canopy version.
Built for Landscaping, Residential, and Municipal Applications
Hyundai designed the HT30 compact track loader for a range of applications, including landscaping, residential construction, and municipal projects.
Jason Taylor, Hyundai’s product manager for compact equipment, said the medium-frame HT30 provides customers with the power, lifting capacity, and versatility needed for different applications without requiring a larger machine than necessary.
The machine expands Hyundai’s compact equipment portfolio following the company’s introduction of the 115-gross-hp HT38 CTL.
Standard Features Designed to Improve Productivity
Hyundai equipped the HT30 with several productivity-focused features as standard equipment. The company included features that support both experienced operators and those new to compact track loaders.
Key standard features include:
- Ride control and creep control systems.
- Hydraulic quick coupler and return-to-dig function.
- Lift-arm float and auto-self-leveling capability.
- Guarded exterior LED work lights.
- Reversible cooling fan and ground-access maintenance points.
According to Hyundai, these features help improve machine operation and reduce downtime during daily work.
Operator Comfort and Cab Design
Hyundai focused on operator comfort in the HT30 cab configurations. The enclosed cab features a one-piece pressurized ROPS/FOPS structure designed to provide a controlled operating environment.
Standard cab features include heat and air conditioning delivered through eight vents, a heated air-ride seat, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-inch smart touch display.
The machine also includes torsion suspension to support a smoother ride. An escort light remains active for 30 seconds after shutdown, helping operators exit the cab safely in low-light conditions.
Taylor noted that operator comfort directly affects productivity, stating that a comfortable operator is a more productive operator.
Maintenance Features Support Long-Term Operation
Hyundai incorporated service features designed to simplify routine maintenance on the HT30.
Daily service and maintenance points are accessible from ground level. The machine also uses a PowerCore air filter, reversible fan, and tilt-up cooling module to help maintain airflow and support easier cleaning of the cooling system.
According to Hyundai, these features help contractors keep the machine productive for longer periods.
Hyundai Continues Expanding Compact Equipment Presence
The HT30 introduction follows Hyundai’s broader expansion in compact construction equipment. The company has introduced new compact machines, including mini excavators, skid steer loaders, and compact track loaders.
The HT30 also highlights the relationship between Hyundai and Develon under HD Hyundai’s construction equipment structure. Both brands continue operating separately in North America while sharing broader corporate resources.
